There are four types of SAFE-BioPharma Association® membership.
Full Member – Implementing SAFE-BioPharma Standard
- permission to use the SAFE-BioPharma standard in global production operations
- access to SAFE-BioPharma information, working groups, and implementation tools
- bound to SAFE-BioPharma operating rules
- participation in SAFE-BioPharma governance; eligible for a seat on SAFE-BioPharma Board of Directors
- annual membership fees based on company size
- SAFE-BioPharma credentials available at cost to member companies
Full Member - Special New SAFE-BioPharma Membership Fees for Small Entities
- available to investigators, CROs and organizations with fewer than 2000 employees
- three year SAFE-BioPharma membership available for $50 per year per user with a $250 annual minimum membership fee
- permission to use the SAFE-BioPharma standard in global production operations
- access to SAFE-BioPharma information, working groups, and implementation tools
- bound to SAFE-BioPharma operating rules
- cost of credentials is separate
Association Member – Considering implementation
- access to SAFE-BioPharma information, working groups, and implementation tools
- not bound to SAFE-BioPharma operating rules
- no participation in SAFE-BioPharma governance; ineligible for SAFE-BioPharma Board of Directors
- annual membership fees based on company size
- companies can move from Association to Full Member within the same year
Government or Not-for-Profit Member
- available to regulatory agencies, government research sites, and
non-profit companies
- bound to the SAFE-BioPharma operating rules
- can use SAFE-BioPharma standard in production
- may participate in limited SAFE-BioPharma governance
Associate Member
- available to clinical investigators, IRBs, and other limited user groups
- SAFE-BioPharma Members may sponsor SAFE-BioPharma credentials for Associate Members
- bound to SAFE-BioPharma operating rules
- neligible for SAFE-BioPharma Board of Directors
Current SAFE-BioPharma member companies: Abbott, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Eli Lilly, Merck, National Notary Association, Novartis, Pfizer, Premier Inc., Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, ScheringPlough-Organon, McDougall Scientific, Snap Diagnostics and Amarin. |
